Welcome to J23 Ministries!

Welcome to J23 Ministries. I would like to just take a moment as introduce our readers to who are and how we came to be. The “J” comes as a reference to Jesus and our desire to recognize Him first and to be obedient to His calling in the creation of this ministry. The “23” is a reference to the jersey number I wore as a baseball player and coach with few excepts since I was 5 years old.

After spending the last 15 years as a baseball coach with 12 of those years coming as a head coach we are now entering into this new area of outreach. One of the biggest challenges in trying to encourage, uplift, and disciple our players was finding quality speakers to bring in front of our team. While I always tried to take the lead in this process it never hurts to have additional voices reinforcing the core values being instilled by your organization. I think about life as a teenager and having my own Dad consistently imparting wisdom, but often it wasn’t someone else (a coach, teacher, or other mentor) delivered the same message that it stuck. While I was certainly stubborn and maybe more so than most; after working with 13-18 year old boys for the last 15 years I don’t believe I was the exception, but rather the norm.

Athletics has always been a core part of my life and I believe they offer one of the greatest avenues to reach and develop young men and women to reach the fullness of their created potential. It is our hope at J23 Ministries that we can walk alongside you as you lead your organization. We are availble to speak at any team function and will be offering weekly updates to this blog, as well as devotional messages on our Instagram page to encourage and support your athletes and staff along the way. I hope you will prayerfully consider giving us a chance.
